As a 25+ year WW veteran I still feel like singing the Isley Brothers song “Here We Go Again” every November…
“What do you do when you finally love a WW plan
And everybody says it is goin’ wrong, oh no
Nobody knows the way you feel about it
Cause only you know, you can’t go back to the plan from 2001
Oh here we go again”
Don’t worry, I’m not going to quit my day job.
It’s almost November and here we go again. Big changes. Little changes. November and WW means changes. Veteran WW’ers know to sit tight and ride it out. Will it be exciting? Am I going to like it? Are avocados zero points now? Why can’t I go back to the plan I was on last month, last year, last lifetime?
So what is coming anyway? There is always lots of speculation and both wild and credible rumors. Nothing I am getting ready to tell you is top secret or will get anyone fired. But if curiosity also killed a WW’er we’d all be in trouble so…. This is what I do know:
Some of you will love it.
No matter what WW does there are some of us who will find a way to embrace and even love it. From what I understand if you like the current Freestyle plan you will still be in love with your new plan.
Some of you will hate it.
I’m not going to apologize for what I’m getting ready to say. There is a population in every situation that hates change. No matter what. Even though when you stopped doing “nothing” and started doing “something” you hated it. No weight loss program is a one size fits all (no pun intended) so some number of you will move to something else just because it isn’t working for YOU. Hate is a strong word, no reason to spoil new opportunities for others if you don’t like change.
Freestyle is not going away.
Whatever this new plan (plans?) is, Freestyle is not going anywhere anytime soon.
Smart Points will still be calculated the same way.
You will not need a new calculator and you will still fill in the same info in your app. I do not have confirmation on this, but I believe this statement to mean that foods with higher protein, lower fat, less sugar will still be lower in smart points
Rumor: There will be multiple plans and they are color coded.
All the hype on social media means people are still excited about WW and I am too! I have no idea if there will be multiple plans, but I know I personally would enjoy have another option like we did in the past with Points Plus and Simply Filling. I am NOT eluding that I know anything you don’t know but…did you notice the e-mail kept changing colors? My marketing mind does make me think that subliminal hue hoedown means something. Doesn’t it?
Everything will be revealed soon.
For some bizarre reason this roll-out is scheduled for Monday, November 11th. Why not Sunday? Sorry Sunday workshop attenders (and Live Chat chums) it’s on a Monday this time. Your app should automatically update on Monday but your PSA is please please pretty please figure out your login and password just in case. Ok?
You have support.
Your app will change on its own. There will be inboxes full of info. Online resources out the wazoo. Coaches available when you log in. And a workshop. Yes, even if you are digital (online) only you can attend ONE workshop for free* and ask all the questions you want. I highly encourage you to find a meeting, attend it, learn from those who are also attending it. And of course then there is Sunday…SUNday…SUNDAY! We will chat on Sunday!
(*please check availability in your area before you show up to a meeting. No materials will be given out unless you pay for your workshop)
You will be fine.
Whether you choose to embrace this new program or choose to move on to something else you will be fine. The fact that you took the time to read this tells me you are serious about finding your way to wellness. I hope you’ll stick around, give it a chance, join us the Sunday after for my candid thoughts and advice. But regardless I know you’ll be fine, you got this.
It just came in a few days ago in Australia. I’m on an Unofficial WW group headed by a Coach. I do Digital and not Work Shops. Pretty much everyone is excited. Green: point almost everything but free low carb veggies and most fruit. Blue is exactly the same as Freestyle. No changes. Purple is similar to Freestyle but in Australia its 7 less Daily points but you can add certain wholegrain with zero counting in as well as potatoes are free. I’m doing Blue – Freestyle worked for me – most success I’ve had on all the repeat attempts. Over 40 pounds gone. Most of the feedback I’ve read is positive. Lots of people going green. More complaints before the new Programs came in due to many not losing on Freestyle like the older Points Programs. I like the changes.
Good to know!
Sorry to hear of another change. I will be sticking with Points Plus. Better suited to my life style. I have gained onFreestyle and find it not user friendly.
I have a feeling you’re going to like the change so stay tuned!
