News and Reviews

  1. I did get a little more info on the WW membership options to be able to access and attend unlimited Zoom meetings like my fave guide, Gwen!
    1. First thing you need to figure out is are you a WW of North America member or a WW Franchise member?
    2. Then do you have a WW Core digital membership or a WW Premium digital membership
    3. Core is Digital only with NO access to any virtual workshops and available thru WW of North America or for franchise members who choose digital only with no in person privileges
    4. Premium includes all virtual workshops.  All franchise-associated accounts who pay to attend in person workshops are PremiumWW of North America members must upgrade to a Premium membership for the additional benefits like virtual workshops
    5. As an extra bit of confusion but good info once you figure out what I’m talking about LOL…but in the WWMET (middle and east TN) franchise if you have elected to be a Core (digital only) member you may attend an in person workshop ONE TIME AS A GUEST. After that one time if you would like to visit an in person workshop, simply show proof of your current CORE digital membership and pay $13 for the weekly in person workshop
    6. So! Back to the original question, no matter where you live or what your membershop options are you MUST HAVE A PREMIUM DIGITAL MEMBERSHIP to attend virtual workshops. Hope that helped!
  2. Not nearly as exciting, but in case you didn’t hear WW is doing away with the online product store. I don’t know when but if you have any faves you’ve been purchasing online you may want to stock up soon before they are gone!

Review Last Week: Last week was Chat #333 “Three Good Things!”

After this topic was posted last week on WW I asked John to list three things that had happened that day that just made him happy.

He said nothing, nothing about that day made him happy.

Have you ever had a day (or days) like that?  Overwhelming schedules, long commutes, never ending meetings about how long the never ending meetings are, how could you find anything happy about a day like that?

Three Fast Facts from WW (sort of, I took some creative license because they don’t pay me so I can) :

Press Pause

Taking a moment to press pause and notice good things is a great way to practice gratitude AND the more often you do it the more automatic the behavior becomes.

Focus On The Big Picture

Repetitious gratitude on the little things helps us focus on the happiness to be found in the big things!

3 Good Things!

Being grateful (happy) improves our ability to overcome a challenge, cope with a setback, and actually reframe how we feel about our day.  Remember the challenge for John at the beginning?  After we talked our way through some other events of the day he still didn’t come up with 3 good things…he came up with FIVE!  And while finding five small things that actually did make him happy that day didn’t resolve all the problems, it left us both feeling much better about the big picture results for that day!

Your homework was #3GoodThings. Raise your hand if you were thinking “yeah, I had that day…NOTHING went right and of course nothing made me happy” when I was telling John’s story at the beginning.  Now DO YOUR HOMEWORK because I promise there were at least 3 things when you really pause, really focus and really write down those 3 Good Things! Whatever it is let us know, I promise your decision to participate this week will help you AND someone else!  Then type it, snap it, share it however you like, and then tag me for your next cool badge!

  • Deanna who ALWAYS does her homework! Did not die of hunger during her fasting period. Even though the chicken parm crust was slightly burnt, she said it still tasted great https://cmx.weightwatchers.com/…/WWRECIPE… and bonus, it was below 90°!
  • John had another rip roaring “well that didn’t go as planned” day but he did find three things to be happy about! One of his co-workers is grabbing the trailer he had ready and packed to go and will complete that trip for him, his mom had a successful surgery and is resting, and he is happy to be at home tonight doing laundry!
  • Bethany from our in person workshop was able to attend an in person workshop, got to spend time with her WW peers and she was able to fix her washer and didn’t have to go to the laundromat!

Bravo, you did it!

This Week’s Topic: “Organize Your Kitchen for Success!”

My “want to” far outweighs my “can do” most days.

One of my Sunday School classmates said that this morning and it was noteworthy! The fact is that my “want to” (eat better, cook more meals, stay within my points, enjoy lunch) far outweighs my “can do” almost every day!

This week’s topic is about organizing your kitchen, your space, and your life in such a way that those “can dos” become “can DONE!”

Three Fast Facts from WW:

Easier really is better

The fact of the matter is, the easier something is to do the more likely you are to do it.

Example: if I purchased a melon today with the intention of eating it but ran out of time to do anything with it, it just becomes another thing to put in my compost later. But if I purchased an already cut melon today the only work is opening the top and eating!

Distance makes the food noise get quieter

The distance between you and any given food choice influences how much and even what you will eat. If I buy chips and portion them out into individual bags but leave them out where I can see them, they will call me until I open and eat every bag. But if I eat a few and send the rest of the bag to work with John, I can’t hear them screaming from 35 minutes away!

Now You See Me!

80% of your thoughts, decisions and even perceptions are determined by what you can see.  If you can see ice cream in your freezer you are more likely to eat it than if it’s outside in the garage freezer (or better yet still in the store freezer where you left it!).  Take these two opaque containers. Which one helps or hinders your plan today?

This Week’s Homework: #NowYouSeeMe!

Your homework for this week is #NowYouSeeMe! Show us how you will either “hide” something you don’t want all up in your food choice business or how you will “SEE” something that needs to be front and center for good decision making.  Now DO YOUR HOMEWORK because I promise there is something in your fridge or pantry that needs to either be seen or unseen! Whatever it is let us know, I promise your decision to participate this week will help you AND someone else!  Then type it, snap it, share it however you like, and then tag me for your next cool badge!

Don’t forget to do your homework #NowYouSeeMe! and tag me when you share on social media!

Extra Credit: Organizing My Space for Success!

Whatever your space looks like to you, sometimes it is difficult to control your success easily. Whether your space is your kitchen at home, a break room full of coworker’s snacks, or a restaurant with tempting options, we are going to discuss some tips to help you keep on track for success!

These are a few things that can help you organize your space and optimize for success:

Teamwork: If you have to share this space with family, co-workers, or even your favorite server at Cracker Barrel, getting everyone working together as a team makes decisions so much easier!  Two weeks ago I challenged the server at Cracker Barrel to come up with an a’ la carte meal that would be soft enough for me to eat and not bust the budget. She was a team player for sure! Yesterday the girls in the showroom and I teamed up and made a yummy lunch from things we already had, made 2 dozen hard boiled eggs, 18 one point waffles for the freezer, and used up an entire container of tomatoes before they turned into compost!

Put what you want up front and center:  And then hide the rest. Or better yet leave it at the store 🙂

Prep it, make it, mark it: Prepping food and meals ahead is great. Making better choices available is key. If you don’t mark it though will it be eaten? Or being compost?

Now you see me: I’m going to go ahead and do my homework and let you help! Everything in this fridge was disorganized, some of it expired, none of it marked, and some good things hidden and the not so good things up front and center. Until we spent an hour working together in the kitchen yesterday at work! I’ll show you what we did and let you help me organize the rest!
