I feel like I should be saying “Kelly’s Log Stardate 3: we continue to experience a strange force field along the ship’s perimeter…”
I can’t explain this strange phenomenon. If you’ve followed me long you know I struggle with lunch in the showroom at KC Kitchen Center. Since I’m the owner everyone wants to talk to me, I mean everyone. And that’s awesome because I LOVE meeting with our customers. Today we had a gorgeous standard poodle mix service dog followed by a family with a 4 week old baby. I love to talk. To everyone.
But it also leaves me more “available” than a normal human should be. I’ve tried hot lunches, cold lunches, sitting at my desk, hiding in the bathroom, walking outside, door open, door closed, small meal, carry out or eat in. I have not had any success and most days end up woofing something down about 2:30 or 3 that wasn’t at all what I intended to eat. Then I play a rough game of refrigerator roulette when I get home. You know how that ends.
After years of struggling with this I tried something new this week (see my Instagram posts for a daily play by play) and moved my starting to try and eat time to 11:30am and then I did something I’ve never done before. I went in the breakroom and sat at the island with my food where the normal humans eat. I cannot explain this force field. I have exactly the same employees this week that I had last week. Several of them I have known for over a decade. But for three days in a row now while I’m sitting in that spot they don’t enter, take a message on the phone without asking me, haven’t even walked across the threshold of that room. It’s so weird! But I’m liking it.
Monday and Tuesday I enjoyed pre-prepped meals including my Plant Based Taco Soup, That Man’s Chicken Breasts and Cauliflower Fried Rice. Today was a backup meal I had purchased “just in case”. Just in case meant I was almost here when I realized my taco soup was in the fridge at home.
The Lean Cuisine Deep Dish Spinach & Mushroom frozen pizza would have been a disappointing 10 SP on the WW My Way Purple plan if I had used the microwave per the instructions. Instead I spritzed it with olive oil, sprinkled on some nutritional yeast and popped it in our Simple Living Products air fryer here at work for 12 minutes on 360. It was crispy, hot and quite tasty!
