And you thought Granny Green’s Fried Apples looked good…wait until you try these!  I am discovering some of my friends on both Insta and Facebook have never had fried apples.  Growing up in the south that concept is completely foreign to me, we ate them at least once a month as a side dish, on biscuits and always always always at the holidays.  Granny Green’s Fried Apples were one of those things you just expected to be there, you know?  My father has done a great job of keeping that tradition alive and often times it becomes part of a Meatless Meal trio that he has inadvertently created.  That trio is usually something like pinto beans, cornbread and fried apples.  Or green beans, coleslaw and fried apples.  And if you tell me you’ve never had cornbread, pinto beans or coleslaw I will pass out.  Right now.  And then I’ll invite you over for dinner because you are obviously deprived.  Obviously.

Are you as shocked as I am that these are only 2 points plus per tart?  The beauty is that you are only use one, count them ONE, serving of the Granny Green’s Fried Apples recipe and those darn cute little Nasoya Won Ton wrappers are only 1 point for two.  Even if you add a tablespoon of light whipped cream you are still right at two points.  So if I went crazy and ate them all that would be let’s see 2 x 6 =….well anyway you know what I mean.

Tiny Tarts for only 2 Points!

Fried Apple Mini Tarts – 2 Weight Watchers Points Plus per serving (6 servings)

Ingredients:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Spray 6 regular size muffin cups with Smart Balance.  Gently insert one won ton wrapper in each and push into the bottom/sides with your finger tips (some days my thumb works better than my fingertips, no clue why).  Turn a second won ton wrapper on the diagonal from the first (so the points are opposite direction) and gently press down.  Put 1/6 of the fried apples into each cup.  Bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes or until the corners of the won tons begin to brown.  Let cool for approximately 5 minutes and add lite whipped topping if you desire.  They were delicious without it!  I gave 2 of each to my daughter and future son-in-law and the plate came back empty.  Quickly.
