In Chat #210 we talked all about snacking and decided that a snack here and there is perfectly fine! (But there’s a big difference between a “snack” and a “treat”)
I gave a lot of examples of protein-rich snacks that you can make quickly and keep on hand to help you make good choices and stay on track.
Now you may be thinking, “Kelly, you just recommended ‘protein-rich’ snacks – and this post is about popcorn!?” You’re right! By itself, popcorn won’t give you the protein you need but with the addition of one of my favorite food additives (spoiler: it’s Bragg nutritional yeast) you’ll be packing on the protein with your popcorn.
Cheesy Ranch Popcorn

Yield 2 cups
2 SP Blue | 2 SP Green | 0 SP Purple
Ingredients
- 2 cups of air-popped popcorn (or Farmer's Popcorn Cob from KC Kitchen Center)
- Bragg nutritional yeast
- DAK’s Nothin’ But Ranch
Instructions
- Pop your popcorn
- Spritz with nonstick spray
- Sprinkle nutritional yeast and DAK’s ranch seasoning
- Toss and enjoy!
