News and Reviews April 2023
- A little bit of news this week…over in the If You Have an Egg Facebook Group, Julie and her posse have decided to do a Rejuvenate our Journey With Weeklies Challenge. Their goal is to build and roll over at least one point per day. They are hoping for some fun discussion and a little “self competition” (she reminds us this is NOT a competition with anyone but yourself!) to see how you do for the month
- Also in the IYHAE group, Deanna is asking who wants to join her on a #JourneyBackToGoal challenge to point every thing before you eat it and track. These two ladies are great group cheerleaders, let them know if you want to join in the fun!
- Robin in our in person group drives an hour to get to our meeting and always has the best snacks with her. Last week she showed me a Chef’s Cut Pepperoni Flavored Turkey Stick she got at Kroger for only 1 point! I wish I could show you one…she bragged about them so much my Kroger was sold out today when I went 🙂
Last week in Chat #315: Temptation Bundling we chatted about taking things you love and things you don’t necessarily like to do and bundle them together!
Sometimes it’s easy to only focus on the things that are fun and we love doing. But the tasks that we don’t like are oftentimes important too! These are a few ways to do both by bundling them together!
If You Love to Chat with People, but You Don’t Love Zoom…
My leader Gwen has a Zoom meeting every week, and I love being able to hop in and see everyone’s faces. It’s like having a fireside chat with all of these people that I wouldn’t normally get to see in person. I don’t love Zoom, but it has become a way for more people to attend Gwen’s meetings. So bundling my love for seeing everyone and chatting with getting on a Zoom call is a great way to Temptation Bundle!
Name 3 Things That You Genuinely Enjoy, Then Name 3 Things You Need to Reach Your Goals
This is an easy way to find connections between things that you wouldn’t naturally connect together. This is an easy way to tempt a task and be able to keep it interesting by bundling!
Your homework was #TaskTempter. Find one thing that you love to do and bundle it together with something that you don’t necessarily like to do… and then type it, snap it, share it however you like, and then tag me for your next cool badge!
Let’s see how you did!
- I stole Carol Lou’s but never to be kept down…Carol came up with an even better one! After working from home since Covid, the news just came that they are returning to the office…boo says Carol LOL. She is going to combine her love of cooking with her dread on returning to the office and come up with some different, tasty lunches to take to work. Ones that I can prepare ahead of time and easy to heat and eat at the office
- Phyllis needs to ride her exercise bike but it isn’t something she enjoys. So she bundles it with watching Days of Our Lives and tempts that task!
- Orlando Debbi isn’t fond of tracking but bundles it with making sure her fave foods are what she’s tracking!
Bravo, you did it!
This Week’s Topic: Get Excited About Your Go To Foods!
Grab a piece of scrap paper and a pen or pencil. Without showing any of us your answer, write down you absolute favorite food from your past (does NOT have to be WW friendly, just the first fave that pops in your head)
Now, raise your hand if you immediately thought “Kelly, no one can see my answer…” LOL.
Making “The List”
Most of us have a go to list that is on repeat in either our grocery online cart, in the fridge, or saved as a frequent food or meal in our WW app. There is no right or wrong answer but think about which three of these guarantees a food in your top spots:
- Points value
- Availability
- Price
- Satisfaction
- Taste
- Ease of obtaining / making
- What other criteria is critical to your list?
Name One
Using the criteria above name one “new to you” food that has made your Go To List and also pick an old favorite that will always be on that list
Now Get That Go To!
Now…flip your papers over that you’ve been hiding since the beginning of tonight’s chat and show us what your old favorite was.
Was it already WW friendly? Awesome, how about adding it to your Go To List!
Not so point perfect? What is something you could do so it can be on your list? Change an ingredient? Only save it for occasional enjoyment? Reduce the serving and add some zero point foods alongside?
This Week’s Homework: #GoToGetter
Your homework for this week is #GoToGetter. Tell us that all time fave food and how you will help it make your Go To List, you never know it may be something we want to add too… and then type it, snap it, share it however you like, and then tag me for your next cool badge!
Don’t forget to do your homework #GoToGetter and tag me when you share on social media!
